In this blog post, we guide you through the process of using a mini digger to clear the area, preparing the land with turf, planting laurels, and incorporating railway sleepers into your landscaping.

1. Clearing the Area with a Mini Digger:

The first step in any landscaping project is to clear the area of unwanted debris and vegetation. We used one of our small mini diggers which is the perfect tool for this task. It's small, manoeuvrable, and can easily tackle small to medium-sized projects. We used it to remove any obstacles, such as rocks, tree stumps, or old shrubs, creating a clean canvas for the new landscape.

2. Preparing the Land with Turf:

Once the area was cleared, we prepared the land for turfing. We started by levelling the ground using the mini digger. Removing any remaining unevenness or bumps, ensuring a smooth surface. Next we enriched the soil with compost and organic matter, improving its fertility and drainage. Finally, we put the turf down, ensuring it was properly watered and maintained to establish healthy growth.

3. Planting Laurels for Privacy and Beauty:

Laurels are a versatile and popular choice for landscaping, offering both privacy and aesthetic appeal. Once we determined the desired spacing we dug holes using the mini digger. We ensured the holes were deep enough to accommodate the root ball of the laurels. After gently removing the laurels from their containers and placing them in the holes. Then it was backfilling with soil, firming it gently around the roots. The watered thoroughly and regularly to promote healthy growth.

4. Incorporating Railway Sleepers:

Railway sleepers can add a touch of rustic charm and functionality to your landscape. They can be used for creating raised flower beds, retaining walls, or defining pathways. The easy way to work with them is the mini digger. We used ours to dig the trenches for the sleepers, ensuring they are level and firmly in place. They were the treated to protect them from weathering and prolong their lifespan.
